If you go to their WIN7 compatability Center page, you'll find MS lists a "Roxio Easy Media Creator Version 2009 " as compatible with win7 at both 32/64 bits. Right now MS seems to be confused with the naming of Roxio's products too. If you don't think the names EM- CREATOR 9 suite and Creator 9 are confusing, then good for you, but take a look at the EMC9 suite retail box design, the first thing you see is "Creator 9" in big bold lettering, at the time I thought I was getting Creator 9 bundled up together with a bunch of other programs (SUITE), not a old version that was already replaced by a different CREATOR 9 product and soon after Creator 10. I do hope that you and yours have a great Holiday Season.ĭo I detect a slight sarcastic tone in your post? My apologies if I offended your sensitivities, I was not aware you had standing stock in the afore-mentioned companies.īefore you jump into other conclusions, at the time I was not aware of the upcoming Roxio 10, otherwise I would have used my Roxio rebate on that version, even Costco had Roxio 10 retail version at a discount soon after the release. Also if you would have run the MS W7 upgrade adviser, you may have been notified that the program was not compatible.

If you use the full names, perhaps it would help Easy Media Creator 9 (or EMC 9), EMC 10, Creator 2009, Creator 2010 might be less confusing. Roxio 9, if I remember was an OEM version so your post may have been moved because of that. like getting a great buy at Best Buy because a new version was coming out and the use of the names. You have gripes against Best Buy, Roxio, Adobe and your computer ! Perhaps some of them are of your own making. New software I need to use like Adobe PS is more complex, as the files keep getting larger.and more CPU power is needed.Įven authoring DVDs with EMC9 was a chore, as my system could not handle the large video files properly.

On the 64 bit issue, if you want to upgrade your system, I don't see any way around it.win7 is the future, I have a 6 year old winXP as you do, (expect MS to stop support soon) but this system (P4) is getting more difficult to use, as everything is now designed in the Net with heavy Video, audio and the CPU eating JAVA.

So now, I find myself with a three generation old software that I've hardly used yet.and need to replace yet again! not a happy camper here. I then realized I was sold old software, and it was too late to exchanged it, all this happened because of this "Name Confusion" that Roxio created. When I first bought this Roxio EMC 9 Suite at Best Buy Roxio 10 was released less than a month after, and I had problems with Roxio rejecting my rebate as a previous user (EMC7?,).Ī few months later I came around here and found the title had changed to Roxio 9 and Roxio 10, I though EMC9 and Roxio9 were the same, but found my post sent to the "Legacy" area here after posting on the Roxio 9 section. I just read around here a thread named "Name confusion" although I can't find it now.
